Golf Course Superintendent
Wilkshire Golf Course is proud to be one of the most scenic and challenging golf experiences in Northeastern Ohio. From gently rolling fairways, water hazards, groomed bunkers and lush landscaping; Wilkshire Golf Course is the perfect place for company outings, practicing your technique or just to get in an enjoyable round.
Amenities include a driving range building, putting greens with chipping and sand practice areas, a club house with a full grill and refreshments, event pavilion, and a fully stocked pro shop.
The Golf Course Superintendent will work closely with the General Manager/Golf Professional in providing a clean, positive, and enjoyable property and atmosphere for our entire guests.
Job Duties: (Include but not limited to)
Maintains all grounds and course maintenance equipment
*The Superintendent will report daily to the General Manager/Golf Professional discussing course conditions and providing any services needed for daily business.
*The Superintendent will be responsible for all maintenance staff. Payroll will be monitored weekly and submitted. Payroll expenses are expected to meet company expectations.
*Schedule, train, supervise and evaluate all personnel assigned to department.
*Supervises all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees and other facilities on the golf course.
*Records all maintenance on course.
*Prepares annual budget for department; takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are met.
*Develops and maintains drainage, irrigation and watering systems.
*Maintains course in proper playing condition.
*Implements and enforces comprehensive safety program for employees, and guests on course in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
*Maintains accurate work records for all personnel in the department.
*Communicates as necessary with the General Manager/Golf Professional.
*Insures that chemicals, petroleum and other controlled products are used, stored, and disposed of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Maintains required records and strives to minimize the use of chemicals and petroleum products.
*As necessary will attend turf conferences, equipment shows workshops and other educational programs to maintain a current knowledge of technical and turf innovations and changes that could affect the department's operations.
*Prepares and revises grounds manual.
*Controls inventory levels and oversee necessary equipment maintenance programs
*Approves all expenditures and keeps operating and capital expenses within approved budgets.
*Keeps complete and accurate records on inventory, equipment, maintenance procedures, pesticide applications, etc.
*Assists with snow removal.
- 2 year associates or 4 year turf management degree required.
- 3 - 5 years of golf course management experience required.
- Current or ability to obtain an Ohio chemical license within 90 days of hire.
- Experience at a high volume facility preferred.
-GCSAA Member preferred, but not required.
